Collaborating with the Government to enhance responses to key crime issues impacting retail.

Our latest Retail Crime Survey revealed that there are over 1300 violent or abusive crimes against retail workers every day. Meanwhile, the annual cost of retail crime, in terms of losses to theft and the cost of crime prevention, exceeds £1.5bn.

The Operations Community leads the BRC’s work on crime and security, with members working together and with the Government to improve the response to the key crime issues facing retail.

The National Retail Crime Steering Group, co-chaired by the BRC and the responsible Home Office Minister brings relevant people together to propose legislation and discuss actions on policing of crime. The annual BRC Crime Surveyis a key resource.
