Collaborate with government on key issues affecting retail

Our latest Retail Crime Survey revealed that there are over 1300 violent or abusive crimes against retail workers every day. Meanwhile, the annual cost of retail crime, in terms of losses to theft and the cost of crime prevention, exceeds £1.5bn.

Many operational challenges cannot be addressed by individual retailers alone.

The Operations Community provides a trusted forum for members to share insight, exchange intelligence, learn from peers and identify collective approaches to shared challenges.

Collaboration is particularly valuable in areas such as retail crime, where partnerships between retailers, government and law enforcement help build a stronger understanding of threats and support more effective responses.

How does the BRC represent Operations Community members to Government, regulators, and enforcement agencies?

The BRC represents members through direct engagement with government, regulators and enforcement partners, as well as through established forums and partnerships such as the Retail Crime Forum, Retail Crime Action Group and the Tackling Retail Crime Together strategy.

These forums provide opportunities to share industry insight, raise operational challenges and support collaborative approaches to improving outcomes for retailers.
